Raccoon Dogs

Description

In the fur industry, raccoon dogs are being skinned alive in China for their pelts. The fur is then used to make fake or cheap versions of Ugg boot. Some are alive for more than 10 minutes after they are beaten over the head and then hung by there legs to be skinned alive. The scary thing is, is that most people know nothing about it but still buy and support this industry without knowing it. The fur can be labeled as a different animal like fox or cat, or even faux fur, so you can never be sure what you are getting. The only thing that we can do to stop this is to bring awareness to people about this horrible event and to not buy anything with fur. I don't have much of a problem with fur farms that use quick and humane ways to kill their animals, but I don't agree with what the fur industry is doing to cats, dogs and raccoon dogs. It is inhumane, horrible, cruel, and could be more humane but they choose not to use more humane methods.

I created this drawing to bring awareness to people so that you know the truth behind the fake/cheap Uggs.

WARNING! if you are an animal lover I suggest not to watch the videos on cat and dog or raccoon dog skinning!

These links below are very informative about this inhumane act:

Raccoon dogs are NOT skinned alive. the video by PeTA was proved to be staged in court. PeTA is known very well for staging videos like these to gather support, and are often the direct cause of harm and cruelty to animals despite hiding behind a good cause. Most of their money doesn't even go to genuinely help animals- but to create really horrendous ads, create cruel videos such as the raccoon dog video, and to put down and discard the large majority of pet animals they get in such as cats and dogs despite all of them being adoptable and them promising to those they got the animals from that they would find homes for them.

Please think logically. Why would anyone skin an animal alive? I practice taxidermy and its already dang hard to skin them dead. Its not in the fur farmer's best interest to regularly skin their stock alive- skinning alive risks injuring to the workers and with a live body wriggling around in pain, it would be very easy for the worker to cut a hole in the pelt- making it useless. Skinning alive is NOT a common practice, as its obviously cruel, and not efficient, especially in a job area where the higher quality the pelt, the more money it brings in.

However, China does not have good industry laws. Their laws regarding animals are very lax- hell, their laws regarding HUMANS are very lax. And the problem with cat/dog fur sneaking into areas where it is banned by being labeled as another animal is a very real thing- and illegal!
But still, this whole 'China skins things alive' is very untrue. China is still a place with very shitty laws, but the skinning alive thing is very untrue and it is better to spread truths instead of lies. Instead of spreading false information, push the true information. Maybe after people finally stop spreading PeTA's shitty lies and instead push the true information, China will hopefully upgrade their laws for the good of their animals and people, and their fur farms would hopefully get on the strict and humane levels that fur farms in places such as the USA and Canada already have.
